Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must satisfy ALL of the following:
- Profession: Be a Bartender/Server or the spouse or child of a Bartender/Server. The foundation defines a "Bartender/Server" as an individual employed in serving beverages or otherwise engaged in the production, promotion or distribution of alcoholic beverages.
- Employment History: Must have performed services as a Bartender/Server on a regular full- or part-time basis for at least one year prior to application. If a catastrophic event prevents current work, must have worked as a Bartender/Server for at least one year before the event.
- Qualifying Hardship: Experience a catastrophic event or emergency hardship that is: - Identifiable and described in detail - Damaging to person or property (e.g., loss of life, health, or property) - Sudden and precipitous rather than gradual or progressive - Unexpected, unanticipated, unforeseen, unintended, or unplanned - Unusual and not normally occurring in ordinary day-to-day living
- Financial Need: Lack the necessities of life, including financial, physical, mental, or emotional well-being as a result of the catastrophic event or emergency hardship
- Documentation: Provide tangible documentation of the catastrophic event or emergency hardship
Selection Criteria
- Grant recipients selected solely on basis of eligibility requirements above
- Pre-screening conducted objectively and nondiscriminatory basis by Jupiter Foundation or designated persons
- All pre-screened and approved applications submitted to Jupiter Foundation members for review
- Grants awarded objectively and nondiscriminatory basis upon application review
- Important: Applications will NOT be denied if the Bartender/Server terminated employment after application submission
- No requirement or condition for future employment as a Bartender/Server at time of award
- Grants distributed as lump sum or as determined by Jupiter Foundation based on recipient needs
- Recipients must provide documentation that grant was used consistent with grant terms
