Overview

The Horton Research Grant is awarded to up to three Ph.D. students studying hydrology, water resources, or a closely related field each year and is made possible through the generosity of the Robert E. Horton Fund for Hydrologic Research. The purpose of the award is to promote excellence by encouraging the next generation of professionals in the hydrological sciences. A research grant not to exceed $10,000 to cover research and travel costs of up to $500 for U.S. and Canadian-based applicants and $1,000 for international applicants. Winners who participate virtually in AGU's annual meeting receive $500 for meeting expenses regardless of their country of residence. Winners will also receive an award certificate. This opportunity is open internationally to applicants who meet eligibility requirements.
