Mission: To promote after school and summer educational and recreational programs for children in the community.

Background

The Hooper Fund was established in December 2000 to honor the memory of Robert Nelson Hooper, an eighth-generation Manchester native. Bob Hooper was devoted to the welfare of children in the community and was actively involved with the School Committee, Boys Scouts, sailing, skiing, and Little League.

    Grant Application Process

    1. Download Application: PDF application form available on website or from Parks and Recreation Department at Town Hall

    2. Submission Requirements:
    - All applications must be received by May 1st
    - If submitting on behalf of a school program, application must be signed by the school administrator

    3. Review and Award Timeline:
    - Applications reviewed and acted upon by the Directors
    - Directors meet in June to discuss all grant requests
    - Awards are distributed in June

    4. Note: Grant awards are based primarily on the Hooper Fund's gifts received during the year.
