Overview: Chance to Dance is Ballet Wichita's outreach program that brings high-quality dance and movement education to elementary-aged students in the community. The program recruits Teaching Artists to deliver curriculum in local schools.

Program Details

Requirements & Qualifications

• Dance Background: Not required (formal dance degree not necessary)
• Prerequisites: Love for movement, learning, and making a difference
• Background Check: Required for all teaching artists
• Availability: Must be available to teach once per week for six weeks during program period (September-December 2025)

Teaching Artist Responsibilities

• Teach once per week for six weeks in local schools
• Help students build confidence, creativity, and coordination through dance
• Help select students to receive a one-year Ballet Wichita scholarship

Special Opportunity

• Wichita State Students: May be eligible to receive college credit for participating in the program
