High School Senior Scholarship

Funder: Farmers Electric Charitable Foundation (part of Farmers Electric Cooperative)

Geographic Scope: Service area includes parts of eastern Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Hunt, Kaufman, Rains, Hopkins, Delta, Franklin, Fannin, Van Zandt, and Wood counties in Texas

Program Overview:
Farmers Electric Cooperative offers 40 scholarships of $1,000 each to high school seniors whose parent or legal guardian is an active Farmers EC member. The scholarship must be used within 4 semesters beginning with the fall semester for the calendar year in which the scholarship is awarded.

Eligible Uses:
Scholarship funds are sent directly to the institution for payment of:

  • Tuition and required enrollment fees

  • Books

  • Equipment required for course work
    • Eligibility Requirements

    • Primary residence must be powered by Farmers EC
    • Graduating high school senior
    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale (student must submit transcript for verification)
    • Dependents of Farmers EC Board of Directors and employees are eligible to apply

      Required Materials

    • 500-word essay detailing future educational and career goals
    • Official high school transcript for GPA accuracy
    • Parental/legal guardian consent

    Application Process

    1. Complete online application form with the following information:
    - Student name (first, middle, last)
    - Email address (personal, not high school email)
    - Name of high school
    - Name of educational institution you plan to attend
    - Home address (street, city, state, ZIP)
    - Parent/legal guardian information (name, phone, email)
    - Parent/legal guardian Farmers EC account number

    2. Submit required documents:
    - 500-word essay detailing educational and career goals (max 50 MB file size)
    - Official transcript showing GPA accuracy (max 50 MB file size)

    3. Provide consents:
    - Student consent signature (electronic, full name required)
    - Parent/legal guardian consent signature (electronic, full name required)

    4. Submit by deadline: 5 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026
