Higgins Family Fund - Performing Arts in the Schools Grant

The Higgins Family Fund, established by the Beckley Area Foundation in 2005, aims to enhance performing arts education in local schools. With a mission to inspire charitable giving, the fund offers $1,500 to support programs that present performing arts exhibitions to Raleigh County school children. Eligibility includes non-profit organizations or public institutions, with projects required to be completed by February 28, 2026. This initiative reflects the community's commitment to arts education and cultural enrichment.

It began with a gift of $1.1 million from the Dr. BAF assets have grown to over $70 million with over 500 different funds managed by our three trustee banks.
Since its inception, BAF has distributed over $23 million to charities and other worthy projects in the fields of education, public recreation, health & human services, the arts, animal services and beautification.
Income is intended for performing arts in the schools.
This fund has $1,500 available  to award.

Eligibility

The Foundation considers grant requests from organizations which are:Designated as a non-profit under Section 501-c-3 of the Internal Revenue Code or is a public institution, school or municipality. Programs funded must support presenting performing arts exhibitions to Raleigh County school children.Project or program must be completed by February 28, 2026.
