Heritage Support Grants - Impact Grants

Objective

Meet high-capacity needs for Indiana's local, county and regional historical societies, museums and sites.

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Be incorporated in the State of Indiana as a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation
  • Reflect history as a significant component of mission and/or propose a clearly history-focused project
  • Have an annual budget of less than $300,000
  • Priority given to Indiana history projects
  • Must be invited to apply - organizations cannot submit unsolicited Impact Grant applications

    How Organizations Are Selected for Invitations

  • Indiana Historical Society identifies organizations with high-capacity needs
  • Invited organizations receive guidance from their assigned grant coach

    Support Available

  • Organizations interested in Impact Grants should contact their grant coach or email grants@indianahistory.org for more information
  • Registered organizations assigned a coach from Local History Services staff for guidance
  • Coaches available to discuss project implementation and provide feedback
  • Coaches not part of grant selection process

1. Determine Eligibility
- Meet all general Heritage Support Grants eligibility requirements (see overview)
- Have identified high-capacity organizational needs

3. Receive Invitation (if selected)
- Indiana Historical Society will contact eligible organizations directly

4. Submit Application
- Submit via online grant portal (like other HSG grants)
- Specific application requirements provided with invitation letter
