The Heritage Home Group Charitable Trust, established in 1960, focuses on enhancing community resilience in North Carolina through strategic funding in areas such as financial mobility, housing access, and small business growth. With a commitment to arts, education, health, and human services, the Trust supports organizations that are tax-exempt and demonstrate fiscal stability. Funding is not available for individuals or political activities, ensuring resources are allocated to meaningful community needs.

The Heritage Home Group Charitable Trust was established in 1960 by the Thomasville Chair Company, with Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. as the trustees. Our grantmaking focuses on opportunities that align with our strategic funding priorities: financial mobility, housing access and affordability, and small business growth.
The mission of the Trust is to support the charitable needs of communities in the counties of Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford and Randolph of North Carolina. Generally, the Trust funds the following program areas:

• Arts, culture, and humanities
• Education
• Environment, animals
• Health
• Human services
• International/foreign affairs
• Public/society benefit
• Religion

Eligibility

To receive funding, organizations must meet the following: Have tax exempt status under IRS code 501(c)(3), or be a qualified governmental agency, tribal entity or public school or school systemDemonstrate fiscal and administrative stability and Deliver services addressing critical community needAll grant funds must be expended for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes. Grant funds, as well as any interest earned thereon, are to be spent only in accordance with the submitted proposal

Ineligibility

Wells Fargo will not consider grants for:IndividualsPolitical action committees, candidates, causes, and lobbyingLabor, alumni, or fraternal groupsRecreation, athletic, or sports teams, programs, or leaguesFor-profit entities, including start-up small businessesGrants specifically for travel, including student trips or toursNone of the funds may be used for any political campaign or for any political activities that would be deemed impermissible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Services code.
