HEART Fund

Overview: The HEART Fund provides grants for disaster relief and rebuilding assistance to disaster victims in the United States and around the world.

Background: WMU and the WMU Foundation established the HEART Fund in response to the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001.

Purpose: Grants from this fund allow Baptists to provide direct relief and rebuilding assistance following disasters, including:

  • Resources for post-traumatic stress

  • Short-term and long-term counseling

  • Funeral expenses

  • Support for affected communities
  • Geographic Scope: United States and worldwide

    Recent Awards:

  • $5,000 grant approved for Michigan State University shooting victims (February 2023)

  • $15,000 grant to Cornerstone Church in Ames, Iowa after shooting (June 2022)
