About The Hear Foundation

The Hear Foundation (THF) is the first and only nonprofit in Pittsburgh dedicated exclusively to collaborating with community leaders, Pittsburgh Police, residents and the City to create a safe, thriving community for all. Co-founded by Leon Ford and former Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert, The Hear Foundation’s mission is to convene, fund, and implement initiatives that build police and resident relationships and strengthen Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods.

The Hear Foundation Impact Grants

Nonprofits and community organizations are invited to apply for financial support, up to $40,000, for efforts that promote public safety through work in one or more of THF’s three pillar areas:

* Gun Violence Reduction
* Healing Trauma
* Workforce Development

Eligibility

* Applicants may request programmatic support for new or existing efforts. 
* Applicants may only request general operating support where the mission and core programs of the organization are strongly aligned with the core purpose and intent of the grantmaking goals.
* Eligibility
* Applicants must be:
* a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization
* an organization with a fiscal sponsor
* Only one Impact Grant per organization may be open at one time.

Ineligibility

* THF does not fund annual appeals, fundraising events, lobbying, advocacy or funding for individuals.
