Harreen Bertisch EWPBF Pathfinder's Scholarship
Purpose: Honor the legacy of longtime EWPBF member Harreen Bertisch (1946-2023) by awarding scholarships to high school seniors.
About Harreen Bertisch: Harreen Lich Bertisch was born June 21, 1946, in Brooklyn, New York. She studied child psychology at Brooklyn College. In 1980, she moved to Palm Beach County with her husband Robert "Bob" Bertish. She was passionate about creating innovative, informative, and imaginative experiences for children, working at the Jewish Community Center in Miami and the Kaplan Jewish Community Center in West Palm Beach. She volunteered at the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County for 28 years, raising over $20 million to support free legal services for children, victims of domestic violence, victims of elder abuse, the homeless, and others. She became an EWPBF member in 1997 and was instrumental in advancing the Lois Kwasman Initiative to fund programs for young women ages 11-21, serving as committee chairwoman for many years.
