Overview

The Harbor Point Charitable Foundation The mission of the Harbor Point Charitable Foundation is to fund and facilitate the most promising organizations that improve the quality of life for Bay Area adults and children in need. We began the transition to our current phase after the passing of the family patriarch, Ray Kaliski, Sr., at the age of 100. The Foundation received generous additional funds from his estate which enabled us to significantly expand our philanthropic efforts, including: Increasing our grant making activities, within our mission. We gained more flexibility, allowing us to both broaden and deepen the scope of our grant giving. We are continuing to refine and formalize our grant making process in order to enhance the impact of our giving in the Bay Area community.Changing our role in supporting organizations’ fundraising efforts. We shifted from the producing role to the supporting role, sponsoring some of the many worthwhile nonprofit events produced by others whose programs are within our mission.Engaging members of the community to advocate on behalf of organizations with which they are involved. Harbor Point Charitable Foundation Grant Our focus is two-fold: To support innovative organizations serving adults and children experiencing health crises; andTo support educational, arts, athletic and nutritional programs for the underserved To date, the Foundation has distributed $4,600,000 in support of programs that advance our mission, improving the lives of thousands of children and adults in need throughout the Bay Area. We provide financial support in 2 major ways: An annual grant awards program and sponsorship of fundraising events produced by nonprofit organizations within our mission.

The Foundation provides sponsorship support and grants only to nonprofit organizations that are exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.Consideration is limited to organizations whose programs support our overall mission, which is to fund and facilitate the most promising organizations aimed at improving the quality of life for Bay Area adults and children in need.The Foundation provides funds only for programs and services that benefit residents of the San Francisco Bay Area, with a special emphasis on Marin County.

Ineligibility

The Foundation does not support individuals or for-profit organizations, fund capital improvements, religious activities, program advertising, political parties, offices or candidates.
