Overview: The Gucker Campership Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping families afford attendance at the North Country Camps (Camp Lincoln for boys and Camp Whippoorwill for girls).

    Background

  • Founded in 1974, originally called The Chief's Memorial Campership Fund
  • Established to honor the memory of Colba "Chief" Gucker and Gladys Gucker, who founded Camp Lincoln in 1920 and Camp Whippoorwill in 1931
  • Named after Chief Gucker (1893-1976), a physical education teacher at the Lincoln School (experimental school of Teachers College, Columbia University)
  • In summer 2023, 42 camp families received over $200,000 in support
