Description Education Forward Arizona is proud to partner with Freeport-McMoRan in a new scholarship program to provide education, training, and job placement in one of six critical technical areas. Recruitment of students has begun for Fall 2025 and will focus on recent high school graduates as well as adult learners. Individuals from all education backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply. Learn new skills that can lead to a rewarding career path and successful future in mining, an industry critical to the energy transition, with Freeport-McMoRan in one of its nine U.S. copper and molybdenum operations in AZ, CO and NM.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. You must be 18 years of age or older at time of employment with Freeport-McMoRan.Eligible and willing to enroll in one of the approved programs at a designated Arizona community college and start classes in August 2025. You must be able to read, write, and speak English. You must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions. Able and willing to participate in a paid summer internship at a designated operational mine. Able and willing to accept a job placement with Freeport-McMoRan at the completion of the training. A medical examination, drug screen and background check will be administered prior to employment. Fill out and submit the FASFA (Federal Student Aid Form) before or soon after if you receive a selection notification. Start the Admissions application at the community college(s) you are interested in so you will be prepared if you are selected.
