GSBA Risk Management Services Safety Grant

The GSBA Risk Management Services (RMS) Safety Grant provides member school districts with critical funding to implement and improve safety initiatives that protect students, staff, and school communities across Georgia.

Geographic Scope: Georgia (member school districts of GSBA)

Focus Areas:

• Physical security improvements and equipment
• Facility and equipment improvements
• Safety equipment and protective gear
• Emergency preparedness training and equipment
• Mental health and well-being programs
• Prevention and response training
• Access control and security systems
• Staff safety equipment (slip-resistant shoes, mats, gloves)
• Emergency response equipment

Eligibility:

• Must be a member of GSBA Risk Management Services
• Open to Georgia public school districts

Award Amounts:

• Individual awards typically range from approximately $1,000-$5,000
• 2025-2026 cycle: Total of $75,000 available with 19 recipients
• 2024-2025 cycle: Total of $60,000 available with 16 recipients
• 2022-2023 cycle: Total of $60,000 available with 15 recipients

Selection Process:

• Applications reviewed anonymously by GSBA staff selection committee representing multiple departments within RMS
• Comparative evaluation to ensure fairness
• Recipients notified via email upon selection
