GreenState Community Funding Program
Overview: GreenState Credit Union's general community funding program supporting local nonprofits and schools in their service areas.
Geographic Scope: Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska communities where GreenState has branch locations
Focus Areas:
Funding Commitment: GreenState plans to contribute nearly $3 million to community organizations in 2026
- Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or school
- Located in communities GreenState serves (IA, IL, NE)
- Must have a proven record of effective work
- Application must be submitted minimum 60 days before event date or media deadline
Eligibility Requirements
- Individual donations
- Team fundraisers
- GoFundMe requests
- Youth athletic requests (exception: on behalf of GreenState staff with child in current season)
What GreenState Does NOT Fund
- W-9 form (required to receive payment)
- Form 990 tax returns from previous two years (if requesting more than $10,000)

1. Submit a Funding Application through the GreenState website at greenstate.org/funding
2. Include required documentation:
- W-9 form
- Form 990 tax returns from previous two years (if requesting more than $10,000)
3. Timeline considerations:
- Application must be submitted minimum 60 days before event date or media deadline
- Do not submit within 60 days of deadline
4. Await response: Expect decision within 14 business days of submission
