Green Lake Basic Needs Grant

The Green Lake Basic Needs Grant, funded by the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, aims to support vulnerable residents by providing essential resources and promoting stability. This grant prioritizes projects that deliver community care, enhance health and wellness, address basic needs for children, and build resilience among individuals. Organizations that are tax-exempt and serve Green Lake County and the City of Ripon are eligible to apply, ensuring that community support is both effective and compassionate.

To support charitable projects and programs that provide essential resources and promote stability for vulnerable residents.
Overview
Thriving communities start with a strong foundation of support, ensuring that every resident has access to life’s essentials. The Green Lake Basic Needs Fund aims to help create this strong foundation by empowering organizations to support the stability and well-being of all residents while fostering a stronger, more connected community.
Priorities
Funding priority will be given to programs and projects that:

• Provide Community Care and Support

Support individuals and families facing hardship by delivering essential resources—such as food assistance, temporary shelter, or financial aid—in ways that uphold dignity and build community connections.
Improve Health and Wellness for Vulnerable Populations
Enhance access to preventive care, screenings, counseling, hygiene products, and other services that promote long-term health and well-being.
Address Basic Needs for Children
Ensure youth have access to necessities like food, clothing, school supplies, and safe, supportive environments, including before- and after-school care programs.
Build Resilience and Self-Sufficiency
Equip individuals with tools to achieve stability and independence while strengthening the community’s ability to support its residents. This includes financial literacy training, job readiness programs, resource coordination, volunteer training, and community-led initiatives.

Eligibility

Tax-exempt organizations including charitable, scientific, social service, educational and religious organizations described in § 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code, as well as government agencies, are eligible to apply for grants.Organizations that are not public charities may apply through a fiscal sponsor.Geographic scope:Green Lake County and the City of Ripon

Ineligibility

Grants will not fund:

• Individuals
• Endowment campaigns
• Capital campaigns
• Programs promoting religious activities
• Political or lobbying activities
