The Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust (JWCT) is a charity set up in tribute to and memory of Jeremy Willson. The charity helps people and projects that reflect Jeremy’s passions in life: athletics, geology, adventure and the environment. The Jeremy Wilson Charitable Trust funds the following: Young able-bodied and disabled sportspeople and athletes. Young geologists. Young people or groups to participate in adventurous activities in the UK and overseas. Young mountaineers. Practical projects to conserve and improve access to natural environments, in particular protected areas, in the UK and overseas. Sports equipment for disabled people for sports clubs and other organisations. The JWCT support specific individuals and projects rather than contributing to other organisations’ general funds.Eligibility

Geological expeditions and field research must be independently organised and have practical application and/or provide social or community benefit (e.g. tsunami or volcano warning).Mountaineering expeditionsApplicants (or the majority of team members) must be aged under 30 (at the time of application). Preference will be given for expeditions which involve climbing unclimbed peaks, attempting new routes or which involve participation of climber/s with a disability or climber/s from a developing country.Ineligibility
The JWCT does accept grant applications directly from individuals, groups and organisations that fit the above funding criteria, however note that the JWCT is a small charity and will not be able to fund all applications made however worthy.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
