Building Strong Children, Families, and Communities through Grantmaking The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County plays a critical role in our region by inspiring and promoting giving in Anne Arundel County by connecting people who care with causes that matter. We know that every one of us can make a difference. Through our Discretionary and Field of Interest Funds, donors can pool their contributions with others to support the causes and areas of need they care about most, such as after school programs, empowerment for women and children, crisis response, making the arts accessible, helping the underserved, or protecting the environment. Grants 4 Teachers - Empowering Anne Arundel County Educators to Bring Creative Ideas to Life Funds grants up to $500 to educators with highly creative ideas for public school classrooms that are otherwise impossible due to funding constraints. The fund helps support teachers’ creative ideas to stimulate and inspire students’ learning. Grants 4 Teachers was launched in 2009 to empower local teachers and counselors with the resources they need to bring their creative ideas to life. Since then, thanks to the generous support of our donors, the Community Foundation has distributed hundreds of grants, totaling more than $100,000, to Anne Arundel County Public School (AACPS) teachers across the county. These grants have funded a wide range of innovative projects that would have been otherwise impossible due to school system funding constraints. Grants 4 Teachers provides financial support to AACPS teachers for creative projects that enhance classroom learning.

Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. All teachers working for Anne Arundel County Public Schools may apply, including but not limited to special needs teachers, music, art, etc.Partial funding may be requested if you can provide documentation of having the remaining balance committed from another source (PTSA, local business, etc.). Examples of previously funded projects include musical instruments and art supplies, paperback books for students to take home and share with their parents, field trips to reinforce social studies or science lessons, and technical equipment to promote scientific investigations.Requests to purchase alternative classroom furnishings, pre-packaged curriculum or software will only be considered if you can describe a creative way in which you will use them to enhance your students' classroom experience.

Ineligibility

Projects that appear to have already begun or that have been fully funded elsewhere will not be accepted.Requests to purchase technology (tablets, touchpads, etc.) will not be considered.Requests for the purchase of assistive technology for an individual student will not be considered.
