- Not eligible: If PI fails to submit proposal to external funding source, PI will not be eligible for Research and Grants program funding for two years
- Not eligible: Awardee must submit copy of completed grant proposal within one year after receiving award
- Not eligible: Office of Sponsored Programs must be provided with copy of letter from external agency notifying applicant of funding decision
Overview
Grant Writing Fund
Purpose: Support and encourage faculty and staff to seek external grant funding for research and scholarly activities.
Objective: Provides an incentive for faculty and staff to seek external funds to support research, creative, and pedagogical projects. Funding is provided by allocated indirect cost funds.

How to Apply
Application Process
1. Complete Grant Writing Fund application (hard copy or electronic version)
2. Detailed instructions are provided on the form
3. Forward signed application with listed documentation to the Office of Sponsored Programs
4. Applications reviewed quarterly by the Sponsored Program Advisory Committee
5. Recommendations made to appropriate Senior Vice Chancellor for final award decisions
6. Applicants notified of funding decisions after quarterly meeting
7. Awardee required to submit copy of completed grant proposal within one year
8. Copy of funding decision letter from external agency to Office of Sponsored Programs
