Grant for Community Fund of McDowell County - Arts, Education, Economic Development, etc.

The Grant for Community Fund of McDowell County, managed by the Beckley Area Foundation, aims to enhance the lives of residents and visitors through support for arts, education, economic development, and youth activities. With a total of $1,500 available for distribution, this fund encourages charitable initiatives that promote well-being and community engagement. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations and public institutions that align with the fund's mission.

It began with a gift of $1.1 million from the Dr. BAF assets have grown to over $60 million more than 500 different funds managed by our three trustee banks.
Since its inception, BAF has distributed over $21 million to charities and other worthy projects in the fields of education, public recreation, health & human services, the arts, animal services and beautification.
This fund has $1,500 available  to award.

Eligibility

The Foundation considers grant requests from organizations which are:Designated as a non-profit under Section 501-c-3 of the Internal Revenue Code or is a public institution, school or municipality. Programs funded must support arts, education, economic development, historic preservation, or youth activities in McDowell County.
