Grant Allocation Request Program
Status: Active funding program for Redwood High School
Geographic Scope: Redwood High School only
Overview: Working in collaboration with Redwood High School, the Foundation raises funds to provide critical resources that make the school exceptional and benefit ALL Redwood students. The Foundation Allocation Committee reviews grant proposals from Redwood staff and students each Fall and Spring.

Previous Grant Examples
- Field Trips: Individual field trip requests should go directly to Principal Payne (annual field trip grant available)
- Professional Development: Individual requests should go to Principal Payne (annual PD grant available)
- Clubs: Individual club requests should go through ASB (RHSF previously approved doubling of ASB club funds)
- Food: Individual classroom celebrations or student group social gatherings
- Swag/Merchandise: Sweatshirts or RHS branded items that students keep
- Gift Cards: Cannot be purchased through budget office
What RHSF Does NOT Fund
Grant Review Process
1. RHSF allocations executive team and administration conduct initial review assessing alignment, feasibility, and alternative funding availability 2. Qualifying applications are presented to the committee for review 3. Each grant reviewed on individual merit with emphasis on education/well-being impact and number of students impacted 4. Committee votes on each grant 5. Committee Chairs present recommendations to Executive Board 6. Executive Board votes to fund grants 7. Approved funds are immediately disbursed to school and managed by budget secretaryNote: Some requests may be delayed, partially funded, or denied depending on available funds.
- Carefully consider projects with greatest benefit to Redwood community
- Prepare detailed budget information including all expenditures (including shipping, handling, sales tax)
- Explore availability of funds from other sources
- For technology requests: review TUHSD IT Standards
- For classroom/departmental requests: get pre-approval from department head
- For common area campus impact: get pre-approval from Saum Zargar

How to Apply
Grant Application Process
Grant Cycles:
- Committee reviews mid-October
- Board votes beginning of November
- Funds approved for immediate use
- Spring Cycle: Open for two weeks at beginning of March - Committee reviews mid-April - Board votes beginning of May - Funds intended for summer projects or start of next school year
Application Steps
1. Receive grant application emailed to all RHS staff at start of each grant cycle 2. Complete application with all required information 3. Submit application during open grant cycle window 4. Application reviewed by RHSF executive team and administration 5. Committee presents to Executive Board for voting 6. Applicant notified of approval/partial funding/denial- Detailed budget information
- Clear itemized expenditures
- Total amount including shipping, handling, and sales tax
- Alignment with Foundation guidelines
- Evidence of departmental/administrative pre-approval where applicable
- For technology requests: confirmation of alignment with TUHSD IT Standards
