Grand Haven Offshore Challenge Scholarship Grant

The Grand Haven Offshore Challenge Scholarship, offered by the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, supports students pursuing studies in natural resources, including fisheries and wildlife. This scholarship is available for applicants attending any public or private college or university. The fund was established to honor community contributions towards environmental preservation and is awarded based on academic merit and financial need. Grand Haven Area Community Foundation scholarships are awarded competitively based on criteria set by donors. These criteria could include financial need, the school the applicant is attending, academic achievement, as well as personal or career goals. The Community Foundation has a rigorous internal selection process for each scholarship decision, and each applicant is reviewed in depth, and considered thoroughly.
Our scholarship program is simple. You are able to apply once for all foundation scholarships you may be eligible for. Once your application is submitted, you will be eligible for all those for which you meet the requirement.
This scholarship fund was established by Grand Haven Offshore Challenge to recognize a student planning to study natural resources, such as fisheries, wildlife, and environmental water quality at any public or private college or university. Grand Haven Offshore Challenge does yearly fishing tournament fundraisers. One of the original organizers of this, Bill Rodgers, was deeply involved in the preservation of local resources and our community and introduced youth to the fishery in Grand Haven.

Interest Area: Environment Financial Need: ConsiderationHigh School Senior Only: NoCriteria/Description: Awarded to a Tri-Cities student who wishes to pursue a career in natural resources, such a fisheries, wildlife, and environmental water quality at any public or private university.In addition to the application, you’ll have to submit the following documents:A copy of your high school or college transcriptAny additional required documents for specific scholarships (like recommendation letters).Page 1 of the Student Aid Report with your Student Aid Index (SAI) included on the form.
