Graduate Marine Conservation Scholarships Grant

The Graduate Marine Conservation Scholarships, offered by the Women Divers Hall of Fame, aim to support women pursuing research and fieldwork in marine conservation. Each year, several scholarships of $2000 are awarded to qualified applicants enrolled in accredited graduate programs. Applicants must demonstrate how their research contributes to marine conservation and submit a detailed proposal outlining their objectives and methods. This initiative fosters the development of future leaders in marine science.

Background
The Women Divers Hall of Fame™ (WDHOF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and raising awareness of the contributions of outstanding women divers. WDHOF provides educational, mentorship, financial, and career opportunities to the diving community throughout the world. Each year, WDHOF awards scholarships and training grants that provide financial and educational support to individuals of all ages, particularly those who are preparing for professional careers that involve diving.
These scholarships are intended to support independent research, fieldwork, and/or applied conservation activities at an accredited university. The applicant should clearly state how the intended use of the scholarship will advance marine conservation. A research proposal detailing the conservation objectives, methods, and anticipated results is required.
There are several sponsors; the scholarships are open to women only. The WDHOF Scholarship Committee will select the award based on applicant eligibility criteria and reviewer recommendations.

Funding
Several scholarships ($2000 each) will be awarded to qualified applicants of any age who are enrolled in an accredited graduate academic or research program in the field of marine conservation or a related discipline (discipline (e.g., marine biology, marine policy, fisheries science, maritime law, economics).

Max Benjamin Memorial Graduate Marine Conservation Scholarship:Sponsored by WDHOF Member Cecilie Benjamin in memory of her husband Max (women only).Meg Donat Graduate Marine Conservation Scholarship:Sponsored by WDHOF Member Meg Donat (women only).Rachel Morrison Memorial Graduate Marine Conservation Scholarship:Sponsored by John and Jeanne Morrison in memory of their daughter Rachel Morrison (women only).Richard Laurence Parish Foundation Graduate Marine Conservation Scholarship:One scholarship will be awarded to support marine science research.Sponsored by the Richard Laurence Parish Foundation (WDHOF Member Robin Parish)  (women only).Applicants may only apply for one scholarship per year.

Ineligibility

They will not support salary, tuition, living expenses, student loan payments, prior incurred expenses, dive equipment, or cameras unless specifically related to the activity proposed.
