Overview

PCSS Overview PCSS provides world-class ski and snowboard training programs. With more than 1,000 athletes, 600 families with 2,000 family members, 1,000 volunteers, and 125 coaches, we are one of the largest winter sports clubs in North America. PCSS has a rich competitive heritage that spans decades and includes many Park City athletes who have gone on to compete in Olympics, World Cups, X-Games, and NCAA Championships. We provide year-round programming across a broad range of ski and snowboard sports. This includes programs in alpine racing, big mountain skiing, park and pipe freeskiing, big air, snowboarding, boardercross, moguls, aerials, as well as cross-country skiing, nordic jumping, and nordic combined. Our programs range from development programs - in which young athletes learn foundational skills in a less competitive environment - up to high-end competitive teams - in which athletes are vying for collegiate, US Team and Olympic team spots. Our athletes range from 7 years old to 25 years old. Notable club alumni include: Ted Ligety (Olympic Alpine Gold Medalist, World Champion and World Cup Winner); Sarah Hendrickson (World Cup Ski Jumping Champion, 2x Olympian); and Izzy Atkin (Olympic Bronze Medalist, Slopestyle Skiing; World Championship Bronze Medalist, Big Air). While we are proud of our elite athletes, we are equally proud of all or our athletes who strive to reach their individual potential while exemplifying our core values. Gordon Lange Scholarship (Cross Country) About Gordon Gordon was a long time Park City resident who coached for more than 40 years at all levels. He made a positive impact on the hundreds of athletes he coached. He had a lifelong passion for cross country skiing and working with athletes. More important than results, Gordon wanted athletes who he worked with to be good people, be considerate of others, do their best, and learn valuable life skills through sports. The Gordon Lange Scholarship is awarded to current Park City Ski & Snowboard cross-country competition athletes who demonstrate merit, strong character, sportsmanship, and financial need. Created in honor of longtime Park City coach Gordon Lange, the scholarship helps cover race, camp, and team travel expenses, reflecting his belief in using sports to build life skills, consideration for others, and a commitment to doing one’s best. It continues his legacy of supporting athletes in both their athletic pursuits and personal growth.
