Summary
The GMAG Student Travel Award, sponsored by the American Physical Society (APS), aims to enhance student participation in the March Meeting 2025. Up to ten awards of $500 each will be granted for travel assistance, with an additional $200 for students from institutions outside the U.S. Recipients will engage with GMAG executives, attend business meetings, and support APS outreach efforts, fostering connections within the physics community.Overview
The American Physical Society (APS) is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities. APS represents more than 50,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world. To increase student participation and involvement in activities essential to GMAG and the APS as a whole, GMAG will sponsor up to ten Student Travel Awards for the March Meeting 2025. The awards will consist of a $500 prize for travel assistance to attend the meeting. An additional $200 is available for those students at institutions outside the United States. The selected students will have lunch with a GMAG Executive Committee member and are expected to attend the GMAG business meeting. We also ask selected students to assist at the GMAG membership table and/or serve one shift at the “Contact Congress” booth to support APS outreach for congressional support for scientific research.Eligibility
