DLS Student Travel Grants

The DLS Student Travel Grants, provided by the American Physical Society (APS), offer partial funding of up to $1000 for graduate or undergraduate students to attend significant conferences such as CLEO and the APS March meeting. To qualify, applicants must be members of APS-DLS and the presenting author of an accepted presentation. This opportunity aims to support students' engagement in scientific discourse and professional development within the physics community.

The American Physical Society (APS) is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities. APS represents more than 50,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world.
Through this program, DLS provides partial funding (up to $1000/grant) for travel expenses for a limited number of graduate or undergraduate students to attend and participate in person at CLEO, the APS March meeting, or Frontiers In Optics/Laser Science.

Eligibility

The student must be a member of APS-DLSThe student must be the presenting author on an accepted oral or poster presentation.The student’s mentor must also be a DLS member. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. Please note: DLS membership is required for both the student and their mentor.

Ineligibility

Students who have previously received a travel grant are not eligible for a second travel grant.
