Gilboa MBI Scholarship Fund

Scholarship fund specifically supporting Gilboa campers participating in Machaneh Bonim Israel (MBI) program for teens entering 11th grade. Designed to support campers on their Habonim journey and nurture future counselor leaders.

Eligibility:

• Gilboa campers participating in MBI
• Must intend to continue as leaders in Gilboa community (madrichimot and madatz roles)
• Starting in 11th grade, campers become madrichimot in year-round activities
• Must return to camp as madatz (counselors in training)

Award Amount:

• Guaranteed: $500 base scholarship
• Additional: Needs-based awards available for families requesting more than $500

Application Requirements:

• Write 250-500 word essay
• Respond to prompt: "How has Gilboa shaped who I am and how will I contribute to Gilboa as a leader in future year-round and camp programs?"
• Must address: How applicant will contribute to Gilboa in the future after MBI
• For additional needs-based funds: Submit financial information form and recent tax return

How to Apply

1. Write essay response (250-500 words) to prompt:
   • "How has Gilboa shaped who I am and how will I contribute to Gilboa as a leader in future year-round and camp programs?"
   • Must address: How you will contribute to Gilboa in the future after MBI
2. Email application to elana@campgilboa.org
   • Include in email: Whether requesting additional needs-based scholarship beyond $500
3. If requesting additional funds (more than $500):
   • Receive financial information form to complete
   • Submit copies of most recent tax return

Award: All applicants guaranteed minimum $500; additional funds available based on demonstrated need and future leadership commitment
