Scholarships Grand Haven Area Community Foundation scholarships are awarded competitively based on criteria set by donors. The Community Foundation has a rigorous internal selection process for each scholarship decision, and each applicant is reviewed in depth, and considered thoroughly. Our scholarship program is simple. You are able to apply once for all foundation scholarships you may be eligible for. Once your application is submitted, you will be eligible for all those for which you meet the requirement. Geri Coccodrilli Culinary Scholarship Fund Jimmy Coccodrilli, longtime owner of the Grand Haven restaurant Porto Bello; Phil Russell, Ex-NHL hockey player; and his wife Colleen Russell, an educator, organized many successful charity golfing events for local nonprofit organizations. In 2003, they decided to plan a tournament to raise funds to establish a Scholarship for students pursuing a degree in the culinary arts. The fund was later renamed after Jimmy's wife, Geraldine "Geri" Coccodrilli, who passed away in 2007.
