A grant program providing financial assistance to high-achieving but financially disadvantaged American college students to participate in study abroad, internship, or volunteer programs in countries other than their own.

• U.S. college students
• High academic achievement
• Financial disadvantage/financial need

• Covers costs associated with study abroad
• Grants of any size accepted
• Support for study, internship, and volunteer activities

• First Round (2018): Helped 100 high-achieving U.S. students
• Second Round (2018): Additional cohort supported
• Ongoing expansion through donor support

Background

Challenge Addressed: Cost remains a major barrier to widening access to study abroad for American students, particularly disadvantaging lower-income and first-generation college students.
