General Grant Program

Recurrence: Rolling (grants available throughout the year as funding permits)

Geographic Scope: Winona Area Public Schools (Winona, Minnesota)

Eligibility: Any WAPS employee (teachers and staff)

Purpose: Provides funding for projects and initiatives that enhance education within Winona Area Public Schools. When normal district budget is unable to cover a project or initiative in its entirety, WAPS employees may apply for grant funding.

What They Fund:

• Field trips
• Guest presenters and speakers
• Learning enhancement opportunities
• Student leadership programs
• Educational materials and equipment
• Classroom enrichment items
• Special projects and innovations

Requirements: Applicants must follow the Foundation's grant guidelines

Additional Information: According to the Foundation, when normal district budget cannot cover a project in its entirety, any WAPS employee has the opportunity to apply for a grant. Grants support academics, arts, athletics, and activities across all K-12 schools and Early Learning Program.
