Primary Focus Areas:

• Early childhood education and development (ages 0-5)
• Early brain and language development
• School readiness initiatives
• Children and families who are vulnerable, at-risk, or unlikely to receive services

What the Foundation Funds:

• Innovative pilot programs and successful long-standing initiatives
• Quality early childhood education programs
• Family engagement and parent support
• Developmental, speech, hearing, vision, and dental screenings
• Literacy and pre-literacy skills development
• Programs that provide physical and social skill development
• Advocacy efforts for public policies expanding early childhood education
• Technical assistance to advocacy organizations

What the Foundation Does NOT Fund:

• Facilities and Administrative costs of universities

Key Initiatives:

• Home visits by kindergarten teachers
• Book publication and distribution for pre-literacy skills
• Support for organizations creating public policy environments conducive to children's interests
• Financial assistance for program fees and school bus transportation

Geographic Service Area: Primary focus on Ohio; however, grants have been awarded to organizations in Arizona and other states

Award History: Over three years, awarded nearly $1 million in grants ranging from $600 to $20,000
