Overview: The General Eric K. and Patricia Shinseki Scholarship fund offers scholarships to graduates of public high schools on Kauai to encourage island youth to continue their studies at an accredited 2-year or 4-year institution.
Geographic Scope: Kauai, Hawaii (restricted to three Kauai high schools)
Award Amount: Three scholarships of $2,000 each are awarded each year (one scholarship per each Kauai high school)

Background: Named in honor of General Eric K. Shinseki, a graduate of Kauai High School who attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served as Chief of Staff of the United States Army. Patricia Shinseki, a graduate of Waimea High School, was a biology teacher at Kauai High School and taught at schools on the mainland and Department of Defense schools overseas.
