Overview

GCRA Grants These grants are run by the City's Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area (GCRA), not the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs. However, these grants are still relevant to many of our cultural organizations who organize events. GCRA Grants and SEAS grants are eligible to used together for the same event, provided that the funds are used for different costs. If your organization is interested in applying for a GCRA Grant and an Outside Agency or PAPI grant, there are some restrictions that apply. Business Improvement Grant Program The updated BIG program offers matching grant funds to businesses for significant eligible renovations to their building’s exterior and interior. The program has three levels, or “tiers,” and two application periods each year, depending on available funding. Tier 1: Applications are accepted year-round for a 100% matching grant of up to $5,000.Tiers 2 and 3: Apply by February 1 or August 1 for a 50% matching grant of up to $50,000.Tier 3: (Only for Historic Buildings) Applications with a historic designation can apply for up to $150,000.
