GCCF: Community Impact Grants - Open Granting

The GCCF: Community Impact Grants - Open Granting program supports local nonprofits in Greenwood County, enabling them to address community needs effectively. With four annual grant cycles and an open granting cycle for broad proposals, organizations can apply for funding if they have not received a grant this year. The initiative encourages collaboration and aims to enrich the lives of residents by funding diverse programs that align with GCCF's mission and non-discrimination policy.

The needs and opportunities in Greenwood County are numerous, and our Greenwood community has consistently been generous in support of local organizations that enrich the lives of residents in our home county.
Greenwood County Community Foundation has established Community Impact Grant cycles to serve nonprofits in their missions. Four grant cycles are offered annually, and the Innovation cycle is offered every other year. Focus areas are designed to be broad enough to encompass a wide range of programs, projects, and purposes.
This cycle will be open for any grant request meeting our granting guidelines, but particularly for programs and projects which do not fall within any of the above categories.
Any organization which has not received a grant from GCCF during this calendar year may apply in the Open Granting cycle. Applicants who submitted requests earlier in this calendar year but did not receive funding may reapply with the previous request or with a new proposal in this cycle.

Eligibility

Grants are for organizations whose proposed programs or projects provide direct benefit to residents of Greenwood County.Grants are awarded to organizations with 501(c)(3) or other tax-exempt status. Grants are made to specific programs and projects.Grants may be made to existing programs or start-up programs.All applicant organizations must confirm compliance with the Greenwood County Community Foundation’s Non-Discrimination Policy: “… the Foundation will consider applications from organizations that do not discriminate in their delivery of programs or services on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, age, medical condition, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.  It is not the intent of this policy to deny support for programs that serve specifically defined populations”.

Ineligibility

GCCF does not offer loans or grants to individuals.Grants are not for endowment, sponsorships, or fundraising events. Duplication of existing services is to be avoided.Funding provided by the Foundation may not be used to participate or intervene in political campaigns or to support an attempt to influence legislation except to the extent that such activities are permissible under IRS rules for 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
