GCAC Capital Expense Grants

The GCAC Capital Expense Grants support sustainable arts and cultural organizations in constructing and maintaining vital capital assets. This program aims to fund eligible capital improvements that enhance the value and longevity of real property, including new facilities, renovations, and equipment purchases. Projects must be in advanced stages of development, with new facilities needing to be 90% complete at the time of application. This initiative ensures the continued success and impact of arts organizations.

2025 Capital Expense
Purpose:

• To ensure that sustainable arts & cultural organizations are able to construct & maintain capital assets vital to their mission.
• What is Capital?

Applicants must propose projects that represent eligible capital improvements, in advanced stages of development. To qualify as a “Capital Improvement,” a project must be a permanent alteration or installation that increases the value and extends the useful life of a piece of real property. This can include the construction of new facilities (must be 90% complete at the time of application), the renovation or restoration of existing buildings, as well as the purchase of fixed assets with a useful life of over 5 years, such as equipment or technology systems.
