Gallatin County Nonprofit Vitality Grant

A grant program funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars allocated by the Gallatin County Commission through One Valley Community Foundation to bolster nonprofit organizational resiliency and revitalization from the COVID-19 pandemic.

• 70 eligible applications submitted
• Total funding requests: $2.66 million
• 18 organizations were awarded funds
• Committee: Diverse committee of Gallatin County community members
• Final decisions made by Gallatin County Commission (June 21, 2022)

Approved Uses:

• Retaining and hiring critical staff
• Paying higher wages
• Offering additional benefits (increased paid leave, housing assistance)
• Engaging in sustainability planning
• Maintaining or expanding programming and service delivery

Impact:

• 94% of grantees used funds for salaries and staff-related expenses
• 72% of grantees paid staff salaries for the grant period
• 11 grantees (61%) hired new staff
• 100% of grantee organizations maintained or expanded critical community programming
