Mission: Provide children of color in underserved communities with opportunities to reach their unlimited potential and strengthen their ability to succeed in life.

• Socio-Emotional Learning: Programs that develop crucial life skills such as resilience, responsible decision making, self-awareness, and empathy in elementary-aged children
• Literacy Development: Equitable educational opportunities that extend beyond reading and writing to help children navigate the world
• Cultural Enrichment: Programs that expose children to possibilities and potential in the world

2026 Area of Focus

Expanding on Peace Corners — safe, welcoming spaces in schools, camps, and libraries designed to:

• Help children manage anxiety and learn about themselves
• Build confidence to return to classrooms/camps
• Reduce absenteeism and increase test scores

Geographic Scope

• US-based organizations only (required by 501(c)(3) certification)
• Focus on Pennsylvania and surrounding underserved communities

Target Beneficiaries

• Grade Level: K-8 (elementary school)
• Population: Children of color in systemically underserved and historically excluded communities

Eligibility Criteria

• Organizations impacting children of color in K-8 grade level
• Demonstrated focus on systemically underserved and historically excluded communities
• Current Gabrielle's Wings partners and unsolicited applicants welcome
• Work must be aligned with funder's mission and funding priorities
• Must be US-based 501(c)(3) or eligible organization

What is NOT Funded

• Salaries or other recurring costs that would create sustainability risk if funding were not available over multiple years

• Regular communication about the work
• Brainstorming about approach
• Evaluating progress and success using agreed upon metrics
• Focus on developing sustainable and scalable foundations

   • Proposals accepted from both current partners and unsolicited requesters
4. Review Process
   • Partner Evaluation Committee reviews all applications
   • Selected applications are passed to the full Board for final review and approval
