BPW/Maine Futurama Foundation Since 1962, when the first small scholarship was presented, the Maine Business and Professional Women (BPW) have helped Maine women achieve economic self-sufficiency by awarding scholarships to outstanding deserving women. Recipients of these scholarships have gone on to take their place in the ranks of working women who contribute to the economic well­-being of their families and the State of Maine. Futurama Foundation: The Career Advancement Scholarship The BPW/Maine Futurama Foundation awards a scholarship in the amount of $3000 to a woman at least thirty (30) years of age who is enrolled in, or returning to, an  accredited college or training program of study, either full or part-time.  The BPW/Maine Futurama Foundation Career Advancement Scholarship is designed to assist a student in meeting educational expenses. The scholarship is awarded for full-time or part-time programs of study and may cover academic or vocational/paraprofessional business training.
