• Startup money for new projects or programs
• Projects not financed through operating budgets
• Programs previously supported by Friends may be reviewed upon request for continued funding

What Friends of UW Health DOES Fund

• New project and program startups
• Non-operating budget initiatives
• Ongoing program support (upon review and request)

What Friends of UW Health DOES NOT Fund

• Staff salaries and benefits
• Consultant fees
• Standard departmental equipment (capital)
• Research projects
• Video productions
• Furniture, aquariums, carpeting, murals, room décor, and other aesthetic goods

Fund Timeline and Spending

• Funds are provided during the fiscal year of the grant award
• All funds must be spent by June 30 of the award year
• Progress reports are encouraged from grant recipients
• If applicant received previous funding from Friends, a progress report on the initial grant is required with the new application

• UW Health programs and services
• UW Health system entities including American Family Children's Hospital
