Our Grant Funding Thanks to Frederick County’s generous donors, The Community Foundation of Frederick County supports a wide variety of community interests through a robust community grants program. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier, more vibrant community not only for today but for the future as well. Through various grant programs, we fund nonprofits that are addressing the areas of greatest need across Frederick County. Frederick FEED Grant Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater announced the launch of a new grant program called Frederick FEED: Food Equity and Emergency Distribution. In partnership with The Community Foundation of Frederick County, this program will strengthen food distribution efforts in the community. The Frederick FEED Grant Program will be open to existing food banks, pantries, religious organizations, and nonprofits operating within Frederick County. Grants awarded may be used to expand food distribution efforts and for equipment purchases to support food operations.Eligibility

All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for a grant. The applicant must be: An already existing nonprofit, 501c3 organization in good standing with the IRS,A religious organization requesting funding for non-sectarian activities, orA civic group that is not a 501c3 organization requesting funding for a community cause.Serve Frederick County residents (51% or more of program participants must reside in Frederick County).501c3 organizations must be in good standing at the time of application with: Maryland Secretary of State’s charitable divisionDepartment of Assessment & Taxation’s Maryland Personal Property tax divisionIRS, as assessed via GuideStar’s Charity CheckEligible Expenses:Food insecurity services including food distribution and meal programs.General operating support for food-related initiatives.Administrative overhead directly tied to food service delivery.Capital purchases such as refrigerators, freezers, or other food storage equipment.Non-consumable items for preparing, serving, packing, delivery, and sanitizing.Focus Areas & Funding Uses
