CFFC Strategic Grants

Funder: Community Foundation Of Frederick County Maryland Incorporated

The CFFC Strategic Grants program by the Community Foundation of Frederick County supports high-impact nonprofit projects addressing critical needs in the area, such as family support, aging population care, and substance use disorder responses. Recent assessments highlight additional priorities like affordable housing access and mental health support. Organizations eligible to apply include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, government agencies, and civic groups. This funding focus may evolve based on new data and community needs.

Through strategic grants, the Community Foundation funds nonprofits that meet the areas of greatest need in Frederick County. These needs are identified in The Frederick County Human Needs Assessment Report.
Currently, we are funding high impact projects that address:

• Supporting families with childrenPreparing for a growing aging populationResponding to Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
• In 2022 an updated human needs assessment, conducted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, revealed additional areas of need, including:
• Supporting access to affordable housingAddressing mental health needsAlleviating disparities in service delivery
• The focus of strategic grant funding may change as new data becomes available.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, an organization must certify it is one of the following and in good-standing: a 501(c)(3) nonprofit; a government agency applying for an extraordinary project that is not funded by tax revenue; a religious organization requesting funding for non-sectarian activities; or a civic group that is not a 501(c)(3) requesting funding for a community cause.Multiple applications are permitted.
