Overview

The Francophone Community Grants Program (FCGP) plays a central role in strengthening the development of the Franco-Ontarian community by supporting non-profit organizations, social enterprises and businesses that deliver French-language services or serve Francophone markets. The FCGP supports projects that aim to: strengthen the capacity of organizations and/or businesses to provide products and services to Francophones in the province promote the recruitment and/or training of bilingual Francophone staff provide opportunities to celebrate and foster understanding of Ontario’s Francophonie The program has two funding streams: Community and Culture Economic Development Community and Culture stream Non-profit Francophone organizations, as well as non-profit organizations serving Ontario’s Francophone community, including municipalities, Indigenous communities, or organizations, are eligible, provided they are incorporated and have maintained continuous activities in the province for at least two years as of January 1, 2025. The FCGP covers up to 80% of total eligible project expenses under this stream. Economic Development stream Ontario entrepreneurs and businesses, as well as incorporated non-profit organizations involved in economic development, are eligible provided they are incorporated, operate within a Francophone community in Ontario, and have been continuously active in the province for at least two years as of January 1, 2025. The FCGP covers up to 50% of total eligible project expenses under this stream.

The program has two funding streams:Community and Culture stream:To apply to the program under this stream, you must:be an incorporated not-for-profit organization have been in continuous operation in Ontario for at least (2) years as of specified datehave an annual operating budget of at least $10,000have a clear mandate to develop programs and initiatives benefiting Francophones at the local, regional or provincial levelnot be 100% funded by the provincial governmentMunicipalities and Indigenous communities/organizations are also eligible.Economic Development stream:To apply to the program under this stream, you must:be a for-profit business or an incorporated not-for-profit organization involved in economic development have been in continuous operation in Ontario for at least (2) years as of specified datehave annual revenues of at least $50,000 (the gross revenue of for-profit applicants is capped at $1,000,000)have a minimum of one full-time employeemeet at least one of the following criteria:operate in a Francophone community offer products/services to francophones in Ontario present a realistic business expansion plan supported by market data to start operating in or providing products/services to a francophone market in Ontario partner with a regional, national or international organization to expand the range of products and services available to francophone markets in Ontario
