Four Way Community Grants

The Four Way Community Foundation, established in 1975, supports nonprofits in Josephine County and western Jackson County. Through grant funding, it aims to enhance community services and assist local organizations in achieving their goals. The Foundation prioritizes capital projects that create significant community impact and encourages collaborations with matching funds. It upholds ethical standards and responds to the needs of the community, ensuring that its contributions lead to meaningful improvements in social, economic, and educational realms.

Our History, Our Name
The Four Way Community Foundation is an independent nonprofit corporation. It was originally founded in 1975 by members of the Rotary Club of Grants Pass. Although there has been no formal association with Rotary for decades, the Foundation honors its origins and the high ethical standards it inherited and maintains by retaining its name, which derives from the Rotary “Four Way Test.”
We have faith in the competence and passion of our local nonprofits. Funding them through grants strengthens the fabric of our community by making possible diverse bodies of work led by people who are experts in their fields of service.
We use the proceeds from our invested funds to provide grants, and to offer direct services to nonprofits to help them grow and thrive. We also help donors use Donor Advised Funds and Charitable Beneficiary Funds to join us in supporting this vital local work.
The Four Way Community Foundation makes grants to nonprofits serving Josephine County and the portion of Jackson County west of the 123rd line of longitude.

Eligibility

The Four Way Community Foundation may fund: capital projects (tables, chairs, computers, ramps, building renovations, etc.) for tax-exempt organizations serving the residents of Josephine County and/or western Jackson County (i.e. Applegate, Ruch, Gold Hill and Rogue River.)

Ineligibility

The Four Way Community Foundation will NOT fund:Organizations that discriminate against individuals protected by our nondiscrimination policy.
Projects outside our geographic service area, which is Josephine County, Oregon, and western Jackson County, Oregon, within the 123 segment of longitude. The board may occasionally make an exception.
Funding for emergencies, political purposes, debt, or operating deficits.
General operating expenses, staff salary support (see Rose Douglas fund for exceptions,) endowments, or fund drives.
Religious activities (does not preclude funding for education or social service programs administered by religious organizations which do not practice discrimination.)
Organizations relying on direct federal or local tax dollars for their principal support, unless there is a need for innovative or unusual programs for which direct public funding is not available.Grantees that are funded three years in a row must “sit out” one year.
Organizations and schools are limited to one grant per year per grant fund.
