Foundation for Health Equity (f4HE): Food Insecurity Grant

The Foundation for Health Equity (F4HE) focuses on combating food insecurity in Northwest Philadelphia by supporting tax-exempt organizations. Grants aim to address immediate needs and systemic inequities, funding programs that provide food assistance and promote healthy aging. F4HE prioritizes nonprofits that exemplify both direct service and systemic change, ensuring a fair opportunity for all community members to achieve optimal health. This initiative seeks to empower local organizations and enhance community resilience against hunger.

Grants
As a grantmaking organization, Foundation for Health Equity provides direct support to organizations fulfilling immediate, individual needs as well as addressing historical, systemic inequities.
Grants can be awarded to nonprofits that fit F4HE’s grant-receiving criteria under one of our primary focus areas: Food Insecurity, Healthy Aging, Women’s and Children’s Health. These grants are awarded to those non-profits that are exemplary of BOTH direct service and systems change efforts.

Eligibility

Grants are restricted to organizations identified as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and serving Northwest Philadelphia in the following zip codes:
19150 – Wadsworth19144 – Germantown19138 – East Germantown19128 – Roxborough19119 – Mt. Airy19118 – Chestnut HillOne LOI per organization may be submitted in a single calendar year. Applicants will be notified directly should there be any exception.

Ineligibility

Eligibility does not guarantee fundingOrganizations must be identified as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and cannot identify as a private foundation. A photocopy of the organization’s most recent IRS determination letter is required for consideration of funding.
Foundation for Health Equity operates under a mission-driven strategic plan which guides our grantmaking.
