Forest Foundation Regional Grant

The Forest Foundation Regional Grant supports new and emerging non-profits in Greater Boston, focusing on leadership development for undergraduate students. With grants ranging from $2,000 to $8,000, the foundation aims to assist small social service agencies that address critical needs within under-resourced communities, particularly youth and families. The application process is by invitation only, encouraging collaboration among non-profits and emphasizing direct community impact.

Forest Foundation was started in 1993 as a grant making foundation focused on new, small, and emerging non-profits supporting under- resourced youth and families in Essex County, Massachusetts. It has evolved into a regional grant maker with a sharp focus on the leadership development of undergraduate college students in the non-profit sector. We currently support 65 summer non-profit internships in Greater Boston, make venture grants to young leaders and their initiatives in New England and New York State, and continue to make regional grants to new and emerging social service agencies in Greater Boston.

Eligibility

Giving Guidelines
Recipients must be non profit organizations (501(c)3, or fiscal agency agreement)Recipient organizations must have a budget of $500,000 or lessGrants will be considered for operating costs and special projectsGrants must be given directly to the community service organization, not through intermediariesFiscal agents will be considered on a case by case decision and no fees can be taken by fiscal agencyRecipient organizations must limit their governmental funding sources to 50% or less of total budgetA site visit is made to all organizations and agencies applying for fundsGrant proposals are by invitation onlyA letter of inquiry or email describing your program is certainly welcome and we will contact you if there is further interest

Ineligibility

Capital campaigns and endowments are not funded.
