Forensic Interview Training Scholarship

Funder: Minnesota Children's Alliance

Overview: Scholarship program to increase access to trauma-informed forensic interview training for Minnesota professionals who interview children reporting abuse.

Eligibility:

  • Minnesota professionals only

  • Members of a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)

  • Eligible professions include:

  • - Child welfare workers
    - Law enforcement
    - Prosecutors
    - Medical providers
    - CAC forensic interviewers
    - Advocates

    Funding Categories:

  • Basic Forensic Interview Training: Up to $1,000

  • Advanced or Expanded Forensic Interview Training: Up to $500

  • Specialized, Advanced Topic Training: Up to $150
  • Approved Training Protocols: Must be nationally approved forensic interview protocol vetted by the National Children's Alliance (NCA) and aligned with best practices and trauma-informed approaches

    Eligible Programs Include:

  • 10 Step Forensic Interview Training

  • APSAC – 40 Hour Training

  • CornerHouse

  • National Children's Advocacy Center (NCAC)

  • NICHD

  • RADAR FI Models

  • StepWise 360

  • And numerous state-approved curricula
  • What Funds Cover:

  • Registration expenses only

  • Provided on reimbursement basis after training completion
