FishAmerica Foundation R3 Grant Program
Funder: FishAmerica Foundation (administered by American Sportfishing Association)
Geographic Scope: United States
Focus Areas: Recruit, Retain and Reactivate (R3) anglers through community-based programs
- Recruitment: Attract new anglers to the sport
- Retention: Keep existing anglers engaged and active, developing long-term customers for the industry. Preference given to retention programs.
- Reactivation: Encourage former anglers to return to fishing
Program Objectives
- Only ASA member retailers or ASA members working with any retailer can apply
- Applicants are encouraged to work with community organizations and/or state/federal conservation agencies on the proposed R3 program
Eligibility
- Grant Amount: $500 to $10,000 per project
- Number of Grants: Seeking to support 10 to 20 projects
- Grant Period: Projects expected to be completed within 1 year of award
- Funding Type: In most cases, funds provided on a reimbursable basis
Award Details
- Comprehensive final report due upon project completion, including outcomes and lessons learned
- Photos of efforts being conducted required
- Brief update may be required midway through project

- Note: Deadline may be extended at discretion of FishAmerica Foundation
3. Required Documentation if Selected for Funding
- W9 form, OR
- IRS Letter of Determination (for nonprofit organizations)
4. Helpful but Not Required
- Letter of support from state natural resources agency
- Letters of support from program partners
5. Project Completion
- Submit comprehensive final report with outcomes and lessons learned
- Submit photos documenting efforts
- May be required to provide mid-project update
