Overview
First Nations Futures Program (FNFP)
Organization: First Alaskans Institute (FAI) and Partners
Program Purpose: A unique partnership between the Indigenous peoples of Alaska, Hawai'i, and Aotearoa (New Zealand) created to cultivate and grow Indigenous leadership in service of families, cultures, employers, communities, homelands and the world.
- In mid-career/cultural/community leadership roles, OR
- At a pivotal stage in their journey where additional support will amplify their abilities to advance Indigenous peoples
Target Participants
Cohort members are active leaders who are:- Traditional Format: Two-week, on-site certificate program through gathering of the three cohorts at Stanford University (in past years)
- Current Status: Program structure may have been modified
Program Format
- Discussions and values propositions fellows develop to advance their ideas in service to their communities
- Focus on work, passions, and responding to the needs of their peoples
