Financial Inclusion Grant Program

Purpose: Funding the work of community organizations to empower and uplift the financial well-being of minority communities across Iowa to address economic disparities and foster financial inclusion initiatives.

Background

Based on the findings of ICUF's 2023 Economic Realities of Communities of Color report, a multi-year commitment was made to address barriers to financial well-being across Iowa. Over half of Iowan households (55%) whose median family income is between $0-$23,070 are paying more than 50% of their income on housing costs. Nearly one-third of Iowans are renters.

Nomination Process:

• Iowa credit unions nominate community organizations
• Credit union nominations were being accepted through April 3, 2026
• Organizations must pass ICUF's eligibility criteria and program evaluation
• Only nominated organizations are invited to apply
